On a Windows Server, the IIS is already „preinstalled“ and just needs to be activated. This process is described below.
1. Open Server Manager Dashboard and click Manage > Add Roles and Features.
2. Select Role-based or feature-based installation and click Next.
3. Select the appropriate server. The local server is selected by default. Click Next.
4. Select / Enable Web Server (IIS) by ticking the box and click Next.
5. Click Add Features to confirm.
6. Make sure the Feature .NET Framework 4.5 (or higher) is selected and click Next.
7. On the Web Server Role (IIS) dialog box, click Next.
8. On the Select role services dialog box, select the components listed below. Click Next.
9. Verify that your settings are correct and click Install.
10. When the installation completes, click Close to exit the wizard.
